The books by foreign authors mostly focus on concepts rather than rote facts just to be memorized, but Indians textbooks and exams mainly focus on the factual aspects.
We Indian students are thus stuck between the two worlds and are actually not able find the right balance between the two approaches.
Each chapter in Bailey and Love has a few topics and important lines with core concepts which are important with respect to the MBBS University exam and the NEET PG Exam.
Preparing for MBBS Surgery University Exam from Bailey and Love
- First make a list of chapter wise University Questions, and then read from each chapter of Bailey and Love topic by topic
- Try to take topic wise notes with headings and subheadings as you go - You can choose to take notes on a laptop (MS Word), Ipad (with Apple Pencil) or the good old pen and paper
- Revise these notes, add more information as you come across some points that you may have missed and keep them ready for the final revision before your university exams.
Preparing for NEET PG Entrance exam from Bailey and Love
- MCQs are actually made from a few lines in each page that are worth remembering and form a part of core concept of the subject, so when you are reading bailey from mcq preparation point of view, you need to highlight these points
- You can use a highlighter on a paper book or annotation tools on IPAD where you can underline or highlight using an Apple pencil (this is how I study these days).
- Revise all these points before your NEET PG Exam.
